The Marching Band at Greenbrier East performs advanced marching band shows with the wind parts being arranged by Brian Carr and the Percussion arranged by Arron Statler throughout the fall season.
Rehearsals are held after school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with additional sectionals scheduled as needed. Students are expected to attend all rehearsals, arrive prepared with music, and participate in sectionals as assigned.
Marching Band season starts in mid July with a Pre Camp this includes fundamentals and basic drill along with musical preparation, This is then followed by an overnight camp usually lasting 3 days. After the camps we help out the State Fair with parking then once school starts we start regular rehearsals and prepare to perform for competitions and games.
The ensemble typically includes flutes, oboes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, horns, trombones, euphonium, tuba, melodic percussion, and marching percussion. Instrumentation may vary by repertoire.
